Today was my fisrt substitute teaching stint. On the phone last night, I heard "fifth" grade. I got to school this morning, and realized it was FIRST grade. My specialty is middle-high school. So, I was really excited last night, (couldn't sleep, first day of school syndrome) and really nervous this morning.
Lots of yelling, three crying kids, a spelling test, two math assignments, three hugs, two rocks, and a good girl wolf to protect little red riding hood from the big bad wolf later, I'm totally in love. I met the children of people Mike works with, as well as the daughter of one of my classmates. The highlight of the day? When they were learning my name and I heard 21 little kids trying to pronounce Bencomo.
I was so born to be a teacher.
