So! I haven't updated my blog in two weeks! Two whole weeks! Why? I was working at the blood sucking high school. I long term subbed for 3 weeks in the Special Ed room. But! now I can buy my bridesmaid dress and shoes.
We went to Albuquerque this weekend to hang out with Ben and Kat and go to the Albuquerque Wine Festival. I didn't take a lot of pictures since I had a wineglass in one hand and a list of wineries in the other. When we finally wound down I got this one of Mike.
I also tried out a wash out purple hair dye. Before. After. Not real impressed, since I think the 8-10 washings is an over estimate. Nice color for just a bit though.
My fiber arts ladies got me a gift certificate to Bobbie's Bobbin (my favorite local fabric and craft store), so I enlarged my stash. I got some fabric for applique, and some fabric and a pattern for my purse for the September wedding. Black velvet outside, red satin lining.
My sister got me a really awesome apron, and a box of the best chocolates I have ever had. Hands down. Wanna know how hot it gets in May in NM?
My yummy-licious chocolates! All melty! Still really good, and this way I could tell what was inside without biting in.
We hung out with Kat and Ben and Kat's friend Amanda a lot. We made wedding favors and drank a couple of bottles of wine. And ate lots of things from Trader Joe's. (I LOVE that store!!) On the way home, we watched X-Men III with Egypt and Jessi (who just bought a house in Idaho this week! Wow!) All I say about this movie without ruining it for people is:
1) It was definitely not directed by Brian Singer
2) When they said "Last Stand," they certainly meant it
3) I think it was worth watching. Some good bits, one corny bit, and lots of very serious bits.
4) He's not in the credits, but I swear Joss Whedon had a hand in this movie. If you're familiar with Firefly, Serenity, Buffy and Angel, you'll know what I mean.
